How the stitch counter works
- Count what you have. Enter every stitch worked so far in the piece, including the current row in progress.
- Multiply what is left. The tool computes
stitches per row × rows remainingto get the stitches still to come. - Add them together. Projected total = current count + (stitches per row × rows remaining). Example: 240 worked, 30 stitches per row, 10 rows left gives 240 + 300 = 540 stitches.
Stitch counter FAQ
How does the crochet stitch counter work?
It multiplies the stitches in your current row by the rows you have left, then adds the stitches you have already worked. The full formula is shown under the result: projected total = current count + (stitches per row × rows remaining).
Why do I need to enter stitches per row?
Most pattern pieces keep a constant stitch count per row (a blanket or scarf body), which is exactly when this multiplication is reliable. If your piece shapes every few rows, enter the average stitch count and treat the result as a close estimate.
Does the counter work for rounds as well as rows?
Yes. Worked in the round, treat each round as a "row" — the arithmetic is identical whether you turn at the end of a row or join a round.
Can I count stitches while offline?
